As with many different browsers you can choose from, the Internet Explorer browser is constantly upgrading and adding new features. As the internet continues to evolve and improve in technology, you expect browsers to transform as well. This is precisely what has occurred with Explorer’s eighth version.
Released on August 27th, 2008, Internet Explorer 8 has a number of benefits and features to offer users. The new tab features allow you to open tabs that you may have accidentally closed. This is terrific knowing how long it can take to find a particular link and how easy it can be to accidentally close one. In addition, the new tab features make it easy to group related tabs together using color codes.
The tab isolation feature prevents a faulty website from crashing the entire browser. Instead, only the tab with the faulty page will close. This is useful if you are working with several different tabs at once. Instead of losing everything you have worked hard to find, you will simply lose the page causing problems.
One of the more beneficial features the new Explorer browser has added is the InPrivate feature. This feature allows you to browse the web without saving any browsing data. Some of this data includes passwords, login data, browsing history and anything else you may need. You want to remain as safe as you can on the internet, especially if your internet is not a secured line.
The last feature that has been added from the previous editions is SmartScreen. This greatly improves the phishing filter from the seventh edition. It works by using a phishing address database and is also recognized by some keywords from the URL.
There are a couple of additional features that are found in the IE beta 1. First are the activities, which provide quick access web services. This feature allows you to look up and send information from the web. Essentially, this permits you to multitask on websites, for example, finding directions to a place, blogging about it, and even talking about it on Facebook.
The other feature found in the IE beta 1 is WebSlices. This is an RSS-like feature that allows you to subscribe to content that is directly within a page. This is extremely beneficial if you want further information that is not open to the regular public.
The new Explorer browser is simple, abundant with additional features, and safe for users. Amongst all the internet browsers available, this is clearly a top choice.
